Local authors Heather Gibbs Flett and Whitney Moss will offer tips for
first-time moms on how to maintain their individuality and boost their
confidence about leaving the house, socializing, and doing the things
they've always liked to do--and making it work with a new baby.
Inspired by their popular blog rookiemoms.com, The Rookie Mom's
Handbook offers bite-sized activities organized by baby's age. Some
are crafty, some are adventurous, and some just give mom an excuse to
get out and have some fun.

The event is all about "Getting Out of the House." The authors will
lead an exercise that will inspire new moms to discover baby-friendly
destinations and adventures. Attendees will come away with a
personalized list of activities to keep them busy and inspired.

Raffle prizes include stylish baby gear from Lucky Brand Jeans valued
at $100.00!

Babywearing session. 5-10 different carriers will be available for
moms to try on. Sponsored by Waddle and Swaddle

Portraits taken by professional photographer of baby and mom.

"Onesie" of a kind decorating--moms will get a chance to personalize a
bodysuit for baby.

Immediately following the event, Studio Grow will be hosting Baby
Grow, their weekly drop-in parent discussion group for parents of
children 0-12 months. Group is facilitated by Judy Alley, a pediatric
social worker.
